Artist:John Philip Mäkinen
During six years of studies Fine Arts I have learned to know the world of Fine Arts by using different kind of techniques and styles and always trying to find new ways of expressing my visions and ambitions. In creating something new I feel it is important to acknowledge all the rules and practical resources that involve my field of study and the way I want my work to represent me as an artist. I am fascinated in deep statements and for creation of these I use my freedom to use any means necessary-morbid ways or super light artificial methods.
Alongside my studies I have been involved with many different projects. These concern various collaborations with other artists, like the whole process of making a mosaic picture 12 meters by 18 meters in Oslo. I have produced video works and animations with different techniques for music groups. I have also worked with music doing live concerts and been involved with creating a gallery space and numerous exhibitions. While doing this I have got to know and observe many different people and their way of working and thinking. I am always happy to learn and interact in the process of making an idea into a functioning entity for a special location.
At this point of my career I hopefully offer some different point of views to my colleagues and to the public.
